Giving Thanks
/ Autumn McKenzie Jackson
There is an occasion for gratitude every day. I have some big huge goals I am working to accomplish before years end. The number of challenges I have been inundated with over that past few months is almost comical. I am grateful for the right perspective to get through them. I choose not to dwell on them, but I started writing some of them down so I can give thanks for making it through them. Then I lost my journal. The challenges are present to make the victories even sweeter.
I am grateful to see a new day.
I am grateful for the perspective that it is going to be a good day no matter what.
I am grateful for you.
I am grateful for this moment with you. You could be many places right now and you chose here.
I could go on.
May today and everyday we look for ways to be grateful.
The possibilities are endless. She is learning to hear from God. She knows that He has a plan and a purpose for her life. She has persevered through many things and her story of overcoming with help others.
Tory Palecek is my best friend from college. I met Tory the first day of volleyball preseason freshman year at Colgate University. We were both incoming freshmen. She immediately made an impression on me.
This is my dad, Benjamin McKenzie. He is a handsome tall man. More often than not, you hear me talk about my mom. My mom was the outspoken one and it is easy to give her credit for most but that would be inaccurate.
On paper, I appear to be over committed and pulled by two sports in separate directions.
Today is Audrey’s birthday. She is 14 years old. I must tell you about her! What an extraordinary young lady! In addition to being an excellent student, she plays the saxophone and is an excellent swimmer. She is beautiful…
What beautiful and impactful work you do that has generational and eternal significance!
Then she asked me about my wedding dress and if she could try it on. I told her tomorrow would have been our wedding anniversary.
God touched my heart to shift my perspective on motherhood.
